Teaching Students with Visual Impairments

Teaching Students with Visual Impairments is a comprehensive site, developed by TVI Carmen Willings.  It includes information on Vision Services, Evaluations, IEP Development, Adaptations, Instruction, and Resources.  There are a number of literacy-related sections, including a section on Language Arts which offers suggestions on adapting materials for braille readers, low vision considerations, and ideas for writing & fine motor skills.  There is also a page of Children’s Literature, featuring characters who are blind or visually impaired.
