This online inventory of free Windows-based assistive applications was compiled by the University of Athens Speech and Accessibility Laboratory and is a directory of free assistive technology software - applications it has installed and tested and presents on its website.

This online inventory was created to inform persons with disabilities of the growing number of free Windows-based accessibility applications now available. The 161 applications are grouped into five technology categories: 

  • Blindness
  • Motor disability
  • Low vision
  • Hearing
  • Speech Disability

Each entry includes the developer name, version number, a description, system requirements, information on installation, settings, and downloads including internal and external links), and a screenshot.

Hi, Lisa,

Can you tell us more specifically about what type of apps you're looking for?  What age level?  Do the students have vision or would this be using VoiceOver?
