O & M Goal Bank with Data Sheets

A goal bank with data sheets is now available through the Cane and Compass website.  Developed by Cindy Wang Kohlhepp, the goal bank is designed to be a resource for Orientation and Mobility instructors to create appropriate goals for students, including those with multiple disabilities.  Responding to the need to help O & M instructors to keep up with data collection, the site also offers ready-to-use online data sheets that are specific to O&M goals.  Given the shortage of time that instructors face, these auto-fill data sheets will help to save time, by enabling numbers to be punched in and an Excel sheet calculating the data.

The goal bank is searchable and includes the following skill areas:

  • Adaptive Mobility Device
  • Basic Skills
  • Business Travel
  • Cane Skills
  • Daily Living Skills
  • General O & M Concepts
  • Human Guide
  • Landmarking
  • Monocular Training
  • Orientation Skills
  • Residential Travel
  • Social Skills
  • Street Crossing Skills
  • Technology
  • Transportation
  • Visual Skills

This goal bank is collaborative, and O & M specialists are invited to share goals and data sheets on the site.
